The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) was founded in 1916 to advance theory and development in the motion imaging field. Today, SMPTE serves its members with the latest technology information and education in a rapidly changing industry. SMPTE is also an accredited and globally-respected industry standards-setting body.
SMPTE currently serves thousands of members in 64 countries. Society members are colleagues in the motion picture industry, broadcast and cable networks, production and post-production community, software companies, systems integrators, manufacturers, display technologies and distribution providers.
