The Storm After the CALM
The presentation looks at some of the effects of the CALM Act on broadcast audio. Have broadcast audio levels become more consistent? Have the changes been good for viewers? Have the changes been good for audio quality? What are the next steps that can provide viewer satisfaction, compliance and better audio for the broadcast industry?
Ken Tankel, Field Applications Engineer, Linear Acoustic
Ken brings a wealth of both hands-on and management experience to Linear Acoustic users, systems integrators and dealers. A lifelong audio engineer, Ken was most recently with NBC O&O WCAU-TV. As owner of Future Media Design, LLC he designed and integrated projects as diverse as studios in the Willie Nelson Theater in Carl’s Corner Texas and broadcast facility design for the Sudan Radio Service. Past positions include GM of Dalet Digital Media Systems USA, Manager of Engineering Support US for Pro-bel and East Coast Director of Technical Operations, CBS Radio Division. Ken is a member of SBE and the AES and holds the SBE CPBE certification.
